Description:
Purpose and function of job:

This position reports to the Interactive Creative Services Manager.This individual is responsible for analyzing, creating, and managing English to French Canadian written content for a wide range of deliverables, including websites, user interfaces, applications, and marketing. The role spans the lifecycle of a project, from initial consultation and strategy to final proofing and quality assurance, and comprises multiple responsibilities, both internal and external. Must be able to manage deliverables across teams and across time zones. This individual will work closely with web usability, visual design, technology, marketing and LOB leaders in the U.S. and in Canada to create a unified, customer driven content direction for Ally web properties. This individual should have a bold vision for excellence in the field of creative copywriting, content analysis, marketing and strategy.This individual should be highly innovative and inspire commitment to a higher standard.They should be a creative professional with a minimum of 5 years experience in web content creation, marketing, product development and content management.Must be multilingual (English and French Canadian) with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Principle Accountabilities:

1.Research and craft compelling long and short form copy in French Canadian.Manage multiple deadlineswhile maintaining consistent quality.

2.Manage relationships with internal clients, agencies, external partners/vendors related to content management standards.

3.Accountable for editorial execution, review, and revision of content according to content strategy requirements, business objectives, and user needs—including translation.

4.Use content tools and reference materials as needed, including brand message architecture; content style guide; seed content; and client-friendly content input tools.Meet creative standards of the team.

5.Various other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Experience and Skills requirements:


5 years experience as a content/creative specialist in an interactive agency, ecommerce financial services and/or creative services. Prior experience in English/French Canadian translation or content creation within ecommerce space preferably with a marketing agency.

Special skills/abilities/competencies preferred:

Strong working knowledge of content management systems (CMS). Superior written and verbal communications skills are essential. Must be fluent in English and French Canadian. Understanding of market research/user-centered research practices. Knowledge or background in Search Engine Optimization strategies and social media including user generated content, blogs and forums. Experience with multi-language translation.

Scope/Dimensions:
Scope of accountability for content International Banking sites and other GMAC / Ally Bank site content assignments as assigned.


Education level: Required: Bachelor Degree, Masters desired. Minimum: 5 years experience in content/creative development, marketing or corporate communications.

Major field of study: Journalism, Communications, Computer Science, English, Web Design. Added plus for financial services, linguistic or foreign languages.

Percentage of time spent on each of the principal Accountabilities in Level Scope:
1. Web content creation, implementation and review 40%
2. Research, strategy, testing, multi-language management and style standards 35%
3. Client Management 10%
4. Administrative-15%

Technical Capabilities and Department Specific Accountabilities:
Identify, recommend, implement, and support innovative, accessible, cost-effective solutions for all Ally web properties. Strong working knowledge of content management platforms. Partner across related disciplines including web usability, visual design, marketing, channel services and vendor managed solutions. Familiarity with web analytics tools such as Hitbox, Omniture, Site Catalyst and Web Trends, and the ability to relate the data from those tools to marketing, merchandising, and customer usage behaviors. Ability to adapt writing style and tone to fit challenges and brand standards. Champion brand tone and voice across languages.
