Experience: Position requires: Bachelor's degree. Masters Degree preferred in an engineering curriculum, Systems Engineering preferred. Strong understanding of JCIDs and the Department of Defense Architectural Framework (DoDAF). Familiarization with Department of Defense (DoD) structure and Joint Service initiatives. Proven ability to engage DoD and interagency stakeholders and to promote collaboration. Knowledge of acquisition process procedures to include preparation of acquisition documentation, briefings, point papers, and analyses preferred. Individual must possess, or be able to obtain, a DoD SECRET security clearance. Knowledge of Systems Engineering as it applies to HW/SW information management. Work location is in Falls Church, VA. Some travel required. Experience with preparation of materials for senior DoD review desired. Experience with MS Office Suite of Tools, including Microsoft Project required. Some travel required.
Duties: The candidate will provide direct support to the Director, Science and Technology for Joint Project Manager Guardian (JPMG). Individual will become knowledgeable of all aspects of the JPMG's integration of the Family of Systems capabilities into the various program's equipment solutions, how those sensors interface/interoperability with the existing installation Command, Control, and Communications (C3) network for installation protection and/or first responder control and measure their effectiveness. The candidate will be responsible for establishing strategic partnerships and identifying opportunities, within the DoD and across the interagency, for JPMG to synchronize with ongoing Homeland Defense and Force Protection initiatives. Attend and participate in Program Management Reviews (PMRs), Integrated Process Teams (IPTs), and other meetings, as required by the JPMG .Support JPMG with short suspense taskers, staff meetings and appointments. Establish and maintain technical interface with POCs pertinent to the program. Review and assess technical, cost and schedule data; identify shortfalls and potential corrective actions; and assist in preparing planning, budgeting, and acquisition documentation. Draft, review, staff and update a variety of documents to include, LOEs, memorandums, briefings, information papers, issue papers and minutes of meetings. Prepare draft briefings, reports, and written materials as appropriate
