Job Summary: Provides clinical consulting and leadership to health systems in the areas of clinical documentation improvement, quality, cost management, operations improvement, and other services
Provides education to client medical and hospital staff to assist physicians in clinical documentation improvement so that the true patient severity of illness is reflected
Provides client training support to hospital Clinical Documentation Specialists and coding staff in physician documentation processes to accurately capture pertinent diagnostic and procedural information within the medical record
Demonstrates recognized expertise in clinical documentation and key coding principles, as well as the various clinical aspects of consulting engagements, sufficient to carry out individually assigned project duties
Demonstrates expertise in the principles of quality improvement, hospital and physician profiling, consumer-driven healthcare, pay for performance initiatives, and other emerging trends
Serves as a clinical advisor to consultants and product development teams to facilitate the clinical understanding of disease processes, new and emerging treatments, and the development of new technologies, tools, and consulting processes
Participates in new service development and ongoing service delivery improvement
Conduct formal presentations with 3M sales teams, webinars to customers, hospital board of directors, medical staff and hospital administration as required
Perform medical record reviews
