Corporate Strategy / Strategic Business Development Manager   3M is an innovative, $21 Billion global diversified technology company with leading positions in electronics, telecommunications, industrial, consumer and office, healthcare, safety and other markets. The company has operations in more than 60 countries and serves customers in nearly 200 countries.    This job reports to the Director of Corporate Strategy/Strategic Business Development and is responsible for a portion of the Strategic Planning process for the 3M Corporation. The process is a fairly formal with annual cycles consisting of Five-year strategic plans. This job consists of the execution of the corporate strategic plan through design and distribution of the plan templates, interaction with business Planners, and contributions to the Corporate Plan Analysis, which culminates in presentations to the CEO and other Executive VP's.  In addition, this individual will act as an Engagement Manager for projects that the Strategic Business Development Department undertakes for business clients across the corporation.   Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Facilitate and administer the annual corporate strategic plan through strong communication skills, strategic thinking, and analytical skills. 2. Provide leadership and knowledge to the planning process so that the process can be improved each cycle. 3. Develop working relationship with other corporate processes, including but not limited to: International planning, global acceleration, supply chain, financial planning, and investor relations. 4. Research and benchmark other companies and planning tools in order to bring new ways of looking at strategy development. 5. Work with the Staff VP of Corporate Strategy, Director of Corporate Strategy / Strategic Business Development, and managers of assigned MBA teams in developing corporate issues, analyzing the divisional plans, and developing themes and analytical tools for "opportunity room" analysis. 6. Responsible to Division and Big B Planners for all aspects of strategic planning process. Must be well organized, knowledgeable, and a strong communicator across many levels of management including top Corporate Officers. 7. Organize and facilitate an annual and global Planners Conference, which normally takes place at the beginning of the calendar year after the annual planning cycle. 8. Maintain the 3M relationship with the Corporate Strategy Board and other Professional Planning organizations. 9. Lead development of a relevant strategic planning website and knowledge management system. 10. Provide consulting support as an Engagement Manager of MBA teams that are working across multiple business units.
