Sr. Project ManagerPOSITION:seeking an experienced business focused project manager to join a new sub-group
within the Financial Systems Group (FSG). The new sub-group will provide process
analysis and project management services to the Finance, Treasury and Procurement
organizations. The role will require the ability to lead, influence, negotiate and
facilitate cross-functional teams. RESPONSIBILITIES: The project manager will work relatively independently and will need to exercise judgment in utilizing methodologies and tools, resources and techniques to best obtain results. The following activities are part of the scope of this role and will include (but not be limited to) the following: - Project Management Activities - Drive change throughout the organization by developing solutions for a variety of complex business process-oriented problems and initiatives. The project manager will need
to deliver to project charters/goals, communicate progress towards milestones to
key stakeholders, and align partner organizations to adopt the change. The project manager will also need to provide proactive business project leadership which will require strong facilitation skills and the ability to work through complex issues (where detailed and in-depth analysis is required) to determine the right course of action.- Consulting Activities- Act as an advisor to the Finance, Procurement and Treasury senior leaders by providing strategic direction based on thorough analyses of the problems/opportunities/challenges that impact complex matrix organizations. Develop realistic, workable solutions that support the customers' needs and implement them successfully. Communicate proactively with stakeholders and senior management regarding progress, issues, risks and risk mitigation steps.- Business Process Improvement Activities - Discover, analyze, document, and understand how multifunctional business processes currently operate and recommend changes to streamline and improve performance and the quality of deliverables.- Systems Activities - Discern the true business requirements and advocate cost-benefit solutions that will meet the business customer's needs. Collaborate with the Corporate IT group to define, develop, and implement robust financial tools and systems in a timely manner. REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: The project manager will have the following skills and qualifications:- BS/BA in Accounting or Finance (MBA preferred)- Experience at a major consultancy (Big 4 preferred) - Over 8 years experience in Finance, Accounting, or Procurement related process
improvement project management (managing teams of 3 or more cross-functional members)
- Experience in managing teams sourced from multiple departments/disciplines- Solid understanding of the PMBOK knowledge areas and project management processes- Over 5 years experience in executing complex business analysis and business process modeling- Self-starter who operates with a high degree of autonomy and professionalism- Solid competency in developing and delivering strategic presentations to senior level management- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build relationships and provide proactive quality customer service- Solid verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels within an organization- Strong financial, analytical and problem solving skills DESIRED COMPETENCIES:- MBA and PMP certification preferred- Financial Operations experience- Collaborative leadership experience using high degree of influence, active facilitation and relationship building to attain consensus/alignment- Experience with SAP R/3 4.7+ and Adaytum - Experience in the biotechnology industry
