We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Database Administrator for a "Contract to Hire" opportunity that will work with a Medical Billing client of ours in the Modesto Area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

- Under general direction, administers and controls organization database resources.
- Design, support, maintain, and evaluate database resources as assigned.
- Installs, configures, and maintains database resources including backup and recovery.
- Uses repeatable practices to ensure data availability, integrity and security, recover corrupted data and eliminate data redundancy, and leverages database tools to improve database performance and efficiency.

Primary Skills and Duties: Oversees the day-to-day operation of database resources including software support, training, and special projects; plans, designs and implements database resource backup and recovery in conjunction with Backup Administrator; assists in coordinating database software purchases, and system installation, backup, maintenance and problem solving; maintains database resource documentation including software applications, support logs and other related information; researches and recommends database software; assists in installing, designing, configuring, and maintaining database resources; analyzes and troubleshoots the database resource logs and tracks the nature and resolution of problems; monitors database resource usage in conjunction with Security Administrator to ensure security of data and access privileges; installs, supports and maintains database resources on both physical and virtual servers and appliances; researches, analyzes, monitors, troubleshoots and resolves database resource problems; develops, maintains and implements database resource support, and archiving procedures; researches and evaluates new technologies related to databases; assists in planning, coordinating and consulting with vendors and partners for database resource related hardware/software purchases, product services and support; recommends and specifies the purchase of related products and services; keeps current regarding new hardware/software products for system enhancements.

Requirements:
- The candidate must have a minimum of five (5) years of combined experience and related education in Microsoft SQL database administration.
- The candidate needs to be available on nights and weekends for emergency, critical and maintenance support.
- The candidate will be required to carry a cell phone for both data and voice communications during business hours and after hours.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
- MCDBA Certification or other recognized certifications
- Medical Billing or Healthcare related background - HIGHLY preferred
- HIPAA Compliance related background - a BIG plus

Education
- BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science or related field
