I.Position Summary:

The Analyst supports the Planning Department with short, medium, and long-term market planning and industry analysis. With a strong understanding of airline industry dynamics and an analytical background, the Analyst supports the Planning DepartmentÁ’s goal of maximizing JetBlueÁ’s network profitability.

II.Essential Functions:

-Gather external industry data and regularly prepares reports for internal analysis and distribution to senior leadership (30%)
-Analyze JetBlue AirwaysÁ’ performance relative to the competition on a route by route basis and identifies areas of opportunity to achieve maximum profitability potential (25%)
-Monitor competitive activity and analyze the effect of industry changes (10%)
-Evaluate industry revenue trends and identify potential areas of strength and weakness on a macro and micro level (10%)
-Extensively researches potential new markets, prepares revenue forecasts, and continually optimizes the existing JetBlue network (20%)
-Contributes to ad-hoc analyses (5%)

III.Interactions:

Supervision Received:

-Plans and carries out work assignments and handles problems in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training, or accepted practices in the occupation. Consults with Crewleader/Teamleader on unique situations which do not have clear precedents

Requirements:
IV.Minimum Qualifications:

-High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
-BachelorÁ’s Degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Finance or related field preferred
-Three (3) to five (5) years analytical experience in a related field
-One (1) year airline experience preferred
-Experience with database tools
-Regular attendance and punctuality
-Organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun and Passion
-Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
-Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
-Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
-When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

V.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


-Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
-Strong analytical and mathematical background involving data input, manipulation, and presentation
-Excellent communication skills
-Effective teamwork skills
-Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
