TITLE: Facilities Technician
DEPARTMENT: Manufacturing
REPORTS TO: Manager, Facilities

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for providing a variety of manual mechanical tasks including; equipment repair and facility maintenance
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide equipment repair and facility maintenance.
Hazardous waste disposal.
Monitor equipment performance.
Investigate facility environmental problems.
Performs routine office repair and maintenance.
Serves as a back-up for the Facilities Manager.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to the Facilities Manager and provides backup support in the areas of security, safety, contractor supervision and emergency response.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No direct reports. Supervise work through the planning and scheduling of work, and the review and approval of tasks.
WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS
This position works regular business hours M-F. Overtime including weekends may be required to meet company goals and objectives.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
HS Diploma required
Associates degree or technical degree desired; or two to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in a pharmaceutical or medical processing company is preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and Procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of The organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, etc.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, talk, hear and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job involve normal vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Individuals will work in well lighted, heated and/or air conditioned indoor manufacturing/office environment with adequate ventilation. Occasionally, works near moving mechanical parts.
