Description:
The WellMed technology environment consists of a Wide Area Network spanning 45 physical locations over 12 geographic locations in the States of Texas, Florida, New Mexico, & Arkansas. The WellMed technology department supports approximately 1500 co-workers across these locations. Cisco technology is used for both LAN, WAN, and VOIP telecommunications. WellMed’s centralized data center is located at its Corporate Facilities in San Antonio which also contains an 800 megawatt backup generator. Our technology platforms consist of approximately 70 Wintel and Linux Servers with a 120 terabyte SAN. WellMed’s technology platforms have been primarily Microsoft SQL based, however we are currently deploying a new enterprise administrative system on a Linux and Oracle platform. Additionally, WellMed will be building an enterprise data warehouse over the next 18 months. Job Summary
The Sr. Director of Information Delivery & Support will oversee and direct the strategic and operational technology activities related to Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence Reporting, Application Delivery, and Application Support. This will include providing direction and oversight to the Data Informatics team, the IT project office staff, and all Business Analyst staff. The position will assist the CIO in all IT planning and governance activities.
Essential Job Functions
1. Manages and oversees all Business Analyst and IT Project Management staff to ensure appropriate service delivery of all new application solutions and enhancements to applications.
2. Directs the strategic and tactical deployment of all data management activities. Includes the design, build, maintenance, and support of all Enterprise Data Warehouse activities.
3. Manages and oversees all work efforts related to information delivery. Includes business intelligence reporting, executive level reporting, operational reporting, and external business partner/regulatory data submissions.
4. Directs and oversees all data quality assurance processes and be responsible for the data integrity of all corporate data reporting sources.
5. Works with WellMed management to ensure all IT applications and reporting needs are aligned with WellMed’s strategic and operational business plans.
6. Deploys and maintains all IT governance and project management methodologies, processes, and procedures.
7. Aligns and coordinates IT work activities with the corporate Process Management/Process Improvement Office (PMPIO).
8. Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Education, Experience & Skills
§ Bachelors’ degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science or related field required (8 additional years of experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree).
§ Eight to ten years of managing and delivering IT application projects in a mid to large size business environment.
§ Experience building and deploying large scale data warehouses
§ Experience in IT strategic & operational planning.
Preferred Education, Experience & Skills
§ Master’s Degree in Finance, Business, or Computer Science preferred.
§ 10 or more years experience in IT managing any or all of the following IT departmental units; PMO office, Client Services delivery, Informatics, and IT Planning.
§ Specific experience building and deploying an IT Project Management Office
§ 5+ years experience building and managing large scale data warehouses.
