Job Description: We are currently searching for a Director of Web Development/E-Commerce and Marketing for a direct hire position for one of our clients here in the Birmingham, AL. Our client is looking to hire someone that has previous management experience and can manage a team of up to 6 people. If you have previous experience with Web development (preferrably CMS tools such as Octane 8, Drupal, etc.), e-commerce, marketing and Internet sales, and are looking for a new opportunity, we would welcome the chance to speak with you. Report to upper level manager and manage a team of Web developers and designers as the team will design and code Web based solutions . Exhibit leadership qualities by by developing strategy and policies for Web based marketing communications and sales research to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers (including blogs, podcasts, etc.) . Work closely with the IT department regarding relevant techology resource needs, while leading Web content publishing across CMS platforms/tools such as Octane 8, Drupal, etc. . Utilize experience/solid understanding of high-traffic and E-commerce sites, specifically load bearing, web/server maintenance and back-up (for architecture and design purposes, not network administration) . Hire and evaluate vendors and consultants to support e-commerce, Web content and online initiatives . Use SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and Web analytical skills/tools such as Google Analytics, Ominture, etc. for Web trafficing metrics Preferred Skills: The qualified individual will have the following: . BA or BA degree is required, preferrably in a related field (Marketing, Computer Science, etc.) . 5+ years of experience leading a Web development and/or online marketing/e-commerce team . Proficiency with CMS tools (Octane 8, Drupal, etc.), HTML, CSS, PHP, Perl, Flash, Javascript, etc. . Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
