US citizenship or permanent residence is required.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position1. Operates to the best possible standards providing uninterrupted high voltage electrical service.2. Monitors diesel engine/generators and associated switch gear parameters.3. Makes adjustments to diesel engine/generators to insure Power Plant operating guidelines are followed.4. Maintains logs as required.5. Starts, places in service and secures diesel generators as necessary.6. Responds to Power Plant casualties with appropriate immediate and subsequent actions while on shift.7. Assist the Power Plant Mechanic with scheduled maintenance and repairs.8. Monitors, test, and adjust water quality standards in accordance with EH&S guidelines. (South Pole)9. Maintains cleanliness of Power Plant facilities including diesel engines.10. Works a rotating shift.11. Complies with applicable Safety, Environment, Health, and Waste Management policies and procedures.12. Advises the Power and Water Production Supervisor of the status of power generating and water production equipment and systems.13. Performs duties in support of Facilities, Engineering, Maintenance, and Construction (FEMC) Division metrics (as provided by supervisor).14. Supports the achievement of RPSC metrics, whether metrics are directly or indirectly, effected by this position's work activities.15. Complies with all RPSC Environmental Health and Safety, and Quality Assurance, requirements and goals.16. Provides documentation to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.17. Works to achieve RPSC goals and contractual commitments.18. Other duties as assignedSupervisionNoneMinimum QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.• Individual must be able to successfully pass a medical, dental and psychological examination prior to departure.Education and/or Experience• High School diploma or equivalent is required.• Two plus (2+) years documented exp. in diesel engine operation or maintenance is required.• Power generation experience is preferred. • Strong background in engine and electrical troubleshooting is preferred.Computer SkillsMicrosoft OfficeCertificates, Licenses, Registrations, Clearance: • A valid Driver's License.• Valid US PassportChenega Corporation is an EOE.
