We currently have an opportunity for someone to become a part of our successful and expanding renewable energy business in our Los Angeles, California office.
The Position: RMT provides technical and environmental services to public and private clients for permitting renewable energy, infrastructure, development, and water management projects. Services would be provided in Riverside and San Bernardino County areas. Responsibilities would include working with environmental and technical staff to implement biological mitigation measures and ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and permit conditions. Typical responsibilities for a Biological Monitor include overseeing construction activities to ensure biological requirements during project construction and implementation of required environmental protection measures, preparing reports and documentation of project progress, and resolving conflicts with project implementation as they arise.
Requirements: BS degree in Biology, or a related field with scientific research and technical writing experience. A minimum of 1 year of mitigation monitoring experience. Experience with Federal and State designated sensitive species (flora and fauna) of Southern California, including migratory birds. Basic knowledge of CEQA/NEPA, and work experience with a biology, hydrology, or geosciences focus. Must have leadership skills as well as be a team-player, creative thinker with initiative, resourceful, and have strong research skills. Excellent writing, verbal communication, and interpersonal skill. Valid California driver's license; satisfactorily pass a pre-employment drug screen and motor vehicle record check.
