This challenging position will involve the design and implementation of software for data acquisition, integration, mining and visualization as part of a team of biologists, computer scientists and bioinformaticians working on genomic studies as part of the Rat Genome Database Project (http://www.rgd.mcw.edu/). The programmer analyst is expected to make a significant impact within this project.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Work with biologists and bioinformaticians to gather user requirements and develop use cases pertaining to ongoing and new genomics projects.
2. Design, code, test, debug, modify, and document applications for use in genomic analysis.
3. Assist in the development and/or refinement of data analysis and integration methodology and pipelines.
4. Make recommendations for new functionality based on analysis of required functionality.
