Description:
Full time position with Epsilon’s Fleet Engineering Services Sector as a Marine Electrician supporting the Southwest Regional Maintenance Center Production Department.
Work involves installing, modifying, repairing, maintaining, troubleshooting, testing, and loading new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment. Examples of these are secondary power distribution lines and circuits used to supply a wide range of voltage, amperage, phase, and frequency requirements, to distribution panels, switchgear, power and control circuits; marine multiphase systems; thermocouple sensors; electrical intrusion alarm and fire alarm system; emergency warning systems; lighting protection systems; high intensity lighting systems with associated controls; target mechanisms; AC and DC rectification systems; galvanic and impressed current cathodic projection systems which prevent corrosion on underground or submerged equipment and pipes; amplifier circuits; and related electrical equipment.
Technicians may be required to support all areas of work in the assigned Product Family systems.
Technician maybe required to assist with PMS accomplishment shipboard.
Similar in detail to Electrician 2804 grade 10.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Knowledgeable in Navy electronics systems, Navy tag out, standard troubleshooting techniques, and Navy quality assurance practices.
Minimum of 5 years experience as a marine electrician.
Able to troubleshoot, disassemble and inspect electrical equipment. Cleans electrical equipment and parts using steam cleaning & solvents, reassemble, and operationally test equipment.
Knowledge of shipboard electrical systems i.e., switchboard, switchgear etc. and rotating electrical equipment.
Able to read blueprints, schematic designs, diagrams.
Able to use electrical test equipment, hand and power tools and soldering.
Must have an active DOD security clearance or have the ability to obtain one.
A High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years shipboard/Navy experience
Installation of Navy/marine electrical systems and interior communications.(wiring, switchboard, controllers, Sp phones)
AIT experience
Completed some form of vocational, maritime, or electrical journeyman training program
