Description:
Progressive CPA firm in SACRAMENTO AREA seeking a Tax Partner to manage and oversee tax department. The Senior Tax Partner is responsible for the delivery of a full range of tax services for multiple clients in a wide variety of industries.
Responsibilities include interacting closely with clients to provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise; developing and managing staff; working closely with partners and staff on client management, practice development and business development activities; and formulating and delivering innovative tax planning and tax savings strategies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Conduct primary and secondary review of complicated or complex income tax returns including estate and trust returns, gift tax returns, and high net-worth individual tax returns.
-Tax Planning for high net-worth individuals.
-Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality.
-Understand and manage firm risk on tax services and proposals
-Develop a project vision and set challenging personal and client service team goals.
-Manage, develop, train, and mentor staff on tax projects and assess performance for engagement and year-end reviews.
-Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, make sure deadlines are met, and lead change efforts effectively.
-Consult, work with, and service client to make recommendations on business and process improvement and serve as a business advisor to client.
-Work closely with partners, managers, and staff to integrate practice development skills into a team approach to client service and new business development.
-Use established network of business relationships within industry groups to generate new sales opportunities.-Maintain strong client relations and cross-sell services within the assigned group of clients.
-Recruit and retain managers, senior associates, and associates.
-Coach staff and motivate others to accept new ideas, practices, or action and achieve goals and objectives for performance and professional development.
-Attend professional development and training seminars on a regular basis.
-Perform other job-related duties as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
-WE ARE ONLY SEEKING PARTNER LEVEL APPLICANTS; PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE AS PARTNER IN FIRM IS REQUIRED.
-Bachelor degree in Accounting.
- Current CPA Certification, Masters in Taxation, LLM in Taxation, or JD.
-A minimum of 10 years of progressive federal tax consulting and/or compliance experience in public accounting or a combination of corporate and public accounting experience.
-Experience in estate and trust returns, gift tax returns, and high net-worth individual tax returns.
- Superior analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills.
-Outstanding experience in staff and tax management in an integrated client service team.
-Ability to manage and develop staff in a highly interactive team environment.
-Demonstrated experience in practice development, business development, and managing other managers.
-Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
-Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment.
