Job Responsibilities:
The scope of this project encompasses the following tasks:
Provide network design and implementation services for improving the availability and performance of all areas of the network based on industry best practices and standards to include low level design.
Provide network integration support for the configuration and operation of NetQOS, MARS, Cisco Works, NAC (Network Admission Control), CSA (Cisco Security Agent), WebSense, and IronPort email encryption.
Assist with alignment of DataCom strategic goals to CalPERS/ITSB Strategic Plan and architecture.
Identify and assist with ongoing training (knowledge transfer) required for DataCom staff in regards to network architecture and design considerations and theory. Make recommendations as needed.
Develop and maintain necessary documentation, including procedures, technical proposal reviews, and both physical and logical network connectivity diagrams.
Provide technical support and guidance to DataCom Manager and staff and act as a technical expert to DataCom customers.
Assist with design, implementation, testing, and issue resolution regarding all network components.
Provide architectural design services for integrating new solutions and redesign existing infrastructure to meet increasing network demand.
Provide migration strategies to minimize or alleviate risk, where appropriate.
Perform system lifecycle replacement analysis for end-of-life platforms and make recommendations.
Job Requirements:
The incumbent must have a minimum of 5 years of experience providing the services above and possess the following technical certifications:
Cisco CCNA
Cisco CCSP
Cisco CCDA
Cisco CCDP
Cisco CCNP
Please note:
Existing authorization to work in the United States is required.
No relocation support is currently available for this position.
Travel is an inherent part of this position.
