Job Summary : Under direct supervision of a Physical Therapist, assumes responsibility for patient treatment to infants through geriatric patient populations. Upholds the standards of the system-wide customer service program. Qualifications : Required : Associate Degree with a major in Physical Therapy Assisting. Currently licensed in the State of Ohio . Preferred : At least one year of experience within the previous twelve months. Physical Requirements : · Ability to walk without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load in orders to support patient from falling during ambulating and/or gait training. · Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patients arm or leg during exercise program. · Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient's pulse. · Visual acuity to observe patient's gross movement, gait, etc., in order to analyze biomechanical problems. · Ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families who may not be able to read. · Ability to hear or understand patients description of symptoms and response to treatment. Frequently (25-75% of the time) performed tasks : Standing, sitting with and without back support, walking, reaching (overhead, forward, lateral, and low), crouching, balancing, lifting 5 to 25 pounds, carrying 5 to 10 pounds, and pushing up to 75 pounds Occasionally (5-25% of the time) performed tasks : Stooping, climbing, lifting or moving 24 to 50 pounds, carrying 10 to 25 pounds, and operating power tools and machinery
