JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist and/or Occupational Therapy Clinical Supervisor, performs the following functions. Plans, organizes, and implements individualized therapeutic programs with patient/family, based on Occupational Therapy Clinical Supervisor, performs the following functions. Observes, reports, and records patient progress and response to treatment. Participates in general departmental maintenance activities. Recognizes need for continued professional growth and initiates learning independently. Participates in student educational experiences. Performs other related duties, as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an Occupational Therapy Assistant Program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association. Current demonstrated clinical proficiency. Graduate of Occupationa Therapy Assistant Program Licensure by the State of Ohio as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. Ability to walk without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load in order to support patient from falling during gait training. Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient's arm or leg during exercise program. Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient's pulse. Visual acuity to observe patient's gross and fine motor movements in order to analyze these movements. Ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families who may not be able to read. Ability to hear or understand patient's descriptions or symptoms and response to treatment.
