Description:
Design and implementation of relational databases at an enterprise level. Lead DB Schema and architectural designs. Provide expertise related to DB2 performance, HA, and scalability. Conduct performance monitoring and optimize physical design for various DB access methods for DB2. Physical database design, tuning and capacity planning. Database security and diagnostic maintenance. Database automation through Scripting and stored procedures. Support/recommend reporting, query and analysis tools ensuring efficient database access Modification of system-level configuration to optimize performance. Development of standards and procedures for the DBMS environment. Troubleshoot production problems and working effectively with other team members to identify and address problems. Regularly scheduled verification procedures and error correction. Stay current with new database technology developments and techniques, research new software and tools, proactively recommend improvements. Tune of SQL code and assisting developers in writing and tuning SQL queries. Perform data management tasks as required loading, image copying, editing, restoring and removing data. Able to understand complex Enterprise Application Architectures, document and support them based upon their support needs and cross-train other members of the team. Work with database vendors and external support on issues such as upgrades, technical problems and solutions.
