Position Description: The Sr. IT Project Manager oversees strategic company projects, which require considerable resources and high levels of functional integration. Sr. IT Project Manager is responsible for leading projects and project teams from original concept through final implementation and closure. Experience managing software development for enterprise business applications projects is required. Experience managing IT infrastructure projects is highly desired. Will interfaces with all areas affected by the project including executives, users and vendors. Will need to communicate with executives regarding status of specific projects, escalating issues and risks, and influencing decisions in support of the project. Ensures adherence to quality standards and follows standard methodology as outlined by the PMO. Responsibilities: Manages and leads strategic projects through entire project lifecycle. Experience with agile software development practices. Motivates the team and fosters team communications. Manages performance of project team and provides feedback to functional manager as necessary. Leads and influences project decisions to deliver project to meet business objectives. Facilitates and leads meetings and activities to identify project objectives, gain consensus on project deliverables, schedule, cost, and implementation considerations. Responsible for keeping the team focused on delivering the highest business value to the customer. Ensures that projects have a clearly defined scope that meets the objectives, standards and quality required by the customer. Escalates issues, risks, slipped schedules/budget to leadership when appropriate and drives solutions and decisions. Manages multiple projects simultaneously. Work with outside vendors. Serves as a change agent within the organization regarding agile practices and PMO methodology. Interfaces and collaborates with internal resources to ensure successful and timely completion of the project. Manages, directs, monitors, and reports upon project activity and status including any alterations in project plan required by change. Guides project through implementation. Ensures all appropriate project artifacts developed, complete, acceptable and in accordance with standards. Responsible for post implementation support through project closure. Manage performance of project team and evaluate overall project team performance. Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience: 10+ years of project management experience in a variety of environments. Proven experience in project leadership roles required. Experienced in people management, resource planning and budget management required. Significant experience managing large, multi-functional projects. Experience in agile software development required. Strong influencing skills and ability to interact with senior management required. Expert level knowledge in project management methodology and project lifecycle required. Experienced with MS Project or equivalent project management software. Experience retail environment is highly desirable. PMI or other project management certification preferred. BS or BA in computer science, business, or equivalent required
