Supplier Development Manager Summary Responsible for relationship and process development of targeted suppliers for the purpose of parts supply. Manage and secure discounted pricing, and negotiating contractual relationships that provide a competitive edge in the market. Manager is responsible for all aspects of supplier relationship from transactional process flow to "C" suite relationships necessary to achieve mission. Duties Lead the selection of target suppliers within the assigned area Develop key attractiveness attributes to be used in selection analysis Develop contacts within targeted suppliers and establish relationships that lead to contracts. First point of escalation on issues arising in supplier transactional interaction. Develops lasting relationships with supplier personnel that foster supplier ties and leads. Communicates effectively with supplier to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions. Development of customized value propositions. Establishing detailed supplier plans and identifying key influences within the supplier that will facilitate successful contract development. End of Life agreements Inventory Liquidation Exclusive supply arrangements Most Favored Nation pricing Project /Program Management Identifies resources needed and develops plans for internal resources necessary to meet supplier commitments (tracking of promotion plans for example). Interfaces day-to-day with Sourcing team members to ascertain the OEM supply base health. Develops contracts as needed to secure OEM values on an extended, protected basis. Communication (internal/external) Facilitates supplier meetings effectively. Effectively communicates relevant project information (OEM activity) to superiors. Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change. Reviews the materials provided by team members and addresses issues as appropriate. Complies with and helps to enforce standard policies and procedures. Develop presentation materials and deliver to as required to win OEM discounts. Education Bachelor's degree is required Specific Skills Accurately forecasts revenue, profitability, margins, bill rates and utilization Strategic planning including the tactical implementation of strategy Ability to "cold call" on supplier contacts and develop lasting relationships Ability to navigate complex supplier organizations and identify key decision makers then develop relationships with those decision makers' Leadership skills - including those necessary to lead informally such as coaching and influencing skills Negotiation skills/relationship management Presentation skills Oral and written communication skills (English) Ability to set and achieve goals Planning and organizing Cognitive reasoning ability including critical thinking and numerical reasoning ability. Including the ability to analyze data sets and draw conclusions based on the data. Ability to develop supplier penetration plans based on data and inferences drawn. Adaptable to change and understanding of change management. Cross functional interaction and ability to build trust across various departments and disciplines. Keyboard skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access) and standard web based research tools such as One Source. Interpersonal skills Supplier contact & management skills Experience in driving supply base improvements (process and margin based) Ability to comprehend and prepare written contracts Ability to use authority, respect and trust in a balanced manner to get people to achieve goals. Broad knowledge of management principles including management of people to be their best. Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized presentations. Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion. Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully. Technical Understanding Possesses general understanding in the areas of medical equipment and the OEMs that manufacture the products Possesses or able to quickly gain a thorough understanding of PartsSource capabilities and core values (value proposition). Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application on client engagements.
