Job Summary : Under direct supervision of an Occupational Therapist, assumes responsibility for children through adult patients' personal care throughout treatment. Upholds the standards of the system-wide customer service program. Qualifications : Required : Associate Degree with an Occupational Therapy major Certified by AOTA and licensed by the State of Ohio Preferred : One year or more of experience completed within the previous twelve months Physical Requirements : · Ability to walk without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load in orders to support patient from falling during ambulating and/or gait training · Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patients arm or leg during exercise program · Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient's pulse · Visual acuity to observe patient's gross movement, gait, etc., in order to analyze biomechanical problems · Ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families who may not be able to read · Ability to hear or understand patients description of symptoms and response to treatment Frequently (25-75% of the time) performed tasks : Standing, sitting with and without back support, walking, reaching (overhead, forward, lateral, and low), crouching, balancing, lifting 5 to 25 pounds, carrying 5 to 10 pounds, and pushing up to 75 pounds Occasionally (5-25% of the time) performed tasks : Stooping, climbing, lifting or moving 24 to 50 pounds, carrying 10 to 25 pounds, and operating power tools and machinery
