Description:
It's time to let who you are determine where you work, and not the other way around. From guitarists to graphic designers to people whose skills defy description, the Nike design group is definitely an atypical work environment. Every few months our design library hosts an exhibit on different design topics - a recent exhibit featured "Rockets, Robots and Ray Guns." And there's also our bi-annual design conferences where the entire staff gets together to swap ideas and inspire each other.
All of this to say, yes, of course, we're committed to creating the best athletic shoes, apparel and equipment imaginable. But the truth is, we think people are more productive when they're having fun.
Start playing.
As one of our Senior Apparel Product Developers, you'll collaborate with the Design teams, liaison offices and factories to interpret and translate designs into approved product that can be manufactured. You'll act as project leader for assigned styles from conception to delivery. You'll analyze manufacturing capabilities, anticipate problems, facilitate problem solving and address issues in a timely manner. You'll consult with category team members to clarify desired concepts. You'll create and revise garment Bill of Materials and Specifications for assigned styles. You'll work with cross-functional product teams to meet style commercialization and material development timelines. You'll inspect and critique prototypes and samples to ensure they accurately reflect construction specifications. You'll communicate rejections and approvals to the field offices and outside contractors on a timely basis. You'll research new technologies and materials in coordination with Design and Merchandising. You'll provide product teams with new ideas and appropriate development options. You'll develop graphic applications including setting up required system documentation and researching key elements such as price and requirements for actual application to garments in production. You'll execute graphic development process including review of GIS and artwork. You'll research, source, develop, commercialize and price assigned materials at suppliers and/or liaison offices. You'll participate in fit sessions and product review with Category Product teams regarding assigned styles. You'll provide guidance and assistance to more junior developers.
