About 3M Lexington: 3M's Digital Oral Care business (www.lavacos.com) has developed and patented a leading-edge imaging technology for oral care applications. Individuals joining our group will contribute to the development of a completely unique 3-D imaging system designed to transform the way dental impressioning and subsequent workflow is currently done. We are located outside Boston in Lexington, MA. About the Position: The Lava 3D scanner (Lava COS) is a cutting edge, PC-based, 3D scanning system, requiring a dynamic approach to selection, integration and assessment of components and overall device quality. The Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) should have proven experience in the manufacture of PC-based devices, including manufacture and integration of proprietary PC boards and related digital electronic components. Additionally, the CQE should have at least five years experience working in medical device quality management systems (FDA QSR and ISO 13485). The CQE will be responsible for defining and executing quality programs at our outsourced manufacturing partners. The CQE should have proven experience in delivering high quality PC-based systems in quantities of 1000+ units/year. The CQE will should have experience in: Manufacturing of PC-based devices, including PC box builds and PCs that contain integrated proprietary electronics
Testing and validating commercial and proprietary PC electronics at the system, subsystem and component level and all levels of integration
Third party QMS audits and conducting internal QMS audits
Effectively conducting root cause analysis and managing CAPA programs precipitated by customer and field complaints
Experience in managing supply chain and distribution processes for both component and finished good products
Defining and implementing quality metrics for PC-based devices
Design control and change management experience with dynamic electronic products
The Certified Quality Engineer will perform the following tasks: Designing and executing validation, verification testing on electronic components at the system/subsystem level
Driving process improvement and corrective/preventive action programs to completion for both design and manufacturing changes.
Conduct and document software and hardware design reviews.
Data analysis and reporting skills with focus on
Component reliability
Vendor trending
Creating actionable data to drive quality improvement programs
Audit closure
Document management
