Job Summary

A Sr.Manager, Infrastructure will be overseeing the design of physical architecture, systems for monitoring, support processes for high volume and highly available ecommerce systems. The Sr.Manager Infrastructure will also work with hosting vendors and data centers to select a suitable one for a particular site and put in place processes to work with the vendor thru out the life cycle of the site.

Key Responsibilities:

Utilizes their knowledge of and experience with eCommerce solutions, physical and deployment architectures.
Utilizes their deep understanding of hardware, operating systems and infrastructure products to design physical architectures
Translates the client’s business requirements around availability, reliability and scale into efficient physical architecture
Challenges business design when appropriate.
Resolves complex technical issues.
Provides mentoring on best practices and processes.
Balances the considerations of what it takes to deploy an application.
Works with the client's IT organization to establish technology strategy at an infrastructure level
Sets technical direction and manages a team of people with Infrastructure skills
Can create criteria for evaluating Hosting vendors and can engage with them in selection process
Can manage the relationship with the Hosting vendor for various site related operations


Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required.
Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in infrastructure related field particularly with experience in Networking, OS Management, large scale server farm management and large ecommerce site operations with virtualization exposure
Prior experience in a consulting firm preferred.
Experience in setting up multiple sites for High availability and disaster recovery
Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively work with client accounts and multi-track Sapient teams.
Understanding of the project life cycle process to effectively be able to manage a sub-team through the complexities of the business solution.
Proven mentoring and coaching abilities to ensure effective growth plans of technology members of Sapient teams.
Knowledge of multiple technologies including (but not limited to): Redhat Linux, App servers like Websphere App Server, Networking tools, Monitoring tools, Storage technologies etc.,
Flexible to frequent overnight travel.
