JOB SUMMARY: Assists managers and faculty of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine: Interacts and participates as a member of the management team. Performs administrative functions and operational activities; directs laboratory personnel in the application and interpretation of policies and procedures. Guides and shapes direction toward a team culture. Acts as a principle resource person for laboratory services, including information management. Assumes responsibilities of laboratory manager as necessary. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in appropriate clinical laboratory science. Current knowledge and practical application of clinical laboratory procedures/methodologies. Demonstrated proficiency in technical, teaching and training proficiency for laboratory medicine techniques, procedures and methods. Ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively to all levels of individuals across teams, departments and divisions. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to collect, organize and maintain data/information required for accreditation or certification. Ability to use and understand laboratory information system (s) and PC programs (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing, database management, etc.).  Physical demands include: Visual acuity. The ability to distinguish colors. Manual dexterity to handle specimens and repair equipment. May be required to stand for long periods of time. Light lifting may be required. May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, biohazards, radioactive materials, etc. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two years of supervisory experience or two years as a lab coordinator in a clinical laboratory. Must have working knowledge of Division and institutional organization.
