Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse - Skills Required - Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, RN, LPN, Geriatric, Illinois License Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse.Location: Chicago, Illinois.Salary: $40,000 to $85,000 annually. (Depends on experience)If you are a great Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse with experience, please read on!Position Description: The nurse will be responsible for a multitude of tasks related to both the retirement building and our company. The nurse must perform daily duties and tasks with minimal supervision. He/she will be responsible for management/supervision of our companies private duty caregivers; making certain both retirement building and the policies and procedures are followed. The nurse will provide support for the retirement building management and Residents. The nurse will perform nursing tasks including but not limited to filling of pill boxes, injections, dressing changes and physical assessments. Hours are Monday through Friday.Qualifications: *Must be a Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse. (RN or LPN)*Have a valid Nursing License in the State of Illinois with at least 3 years of Nursing experience. *Must have excellent administrative, management and communication skills.*Must have mature judgment and emotional stability. *Two years of experience in geriatrics is preferred.*The nurse reports directly to the Executive Director.Duties:*Manage/Schedule Catered Services and Catered Living Plans.*Monitor compliance of private duty caregivers in keeping with the policies of both our company and the retirement building.*Maintain scheduled office hours for blood pressure and blood sugar monitoring.*Respond to Resident emergency calls and report findings to MD and family, or call 911.*Attend weekly plan meetings at the retirement building.*Fill Resident pillboxes, administer injections and perform simple dressing changes.*Refer to Residents to a home health care agency when skilled needs are recognized.*Communicate with Resident's Physicians regarding Resident's needs, medication and/or treatment changes. Follow up with report to Director of Resident Services and families when appropriate.*Visit all new residents within 48 hours to establish a Plan of Care and have start of care information completed and signed.*Visit all new Residents within 1 business day to evaluate for care and report findings/concerns to Director of Resident Services.*Evaluate Residents to follow up on incident reports, hospitalizations and staff concerns.
