Freelance/Staff Leveling Project Editor
Join our growing team! Quarasan, the top educational product development company in Chicago has a great opportunity for a Project Editor at an Executive Editor level!
As a Reading Leveling Project Editor (Project or full time) at Quarasan, you would be responsible for managing all aspects of editorial content on reading projects, with an emphasis in assessing, analyzing, and proposing a comprehensive leveled reader program for clients. Ability to conceptualize and evaluate a program on a series-wide basis is required. Experience in asset reuse and repurposing is crucial.

Job Requirements
Superior project management skills; has managed large projects and proposals independently.
Ability to categorize and assess readers by topics and themes; adept at creating assessment criteria (topic/interest, level, grade, art condition, etc.).
Comprehensive understanding of various leveling programs and tools (Lexile, DRA, Fountas and Pinnell, etc.).
Strong knowledge of excel and/or databases to manage project is strongly desired.
Must have content area flexibility—able to perform effectively across several subject areas including math, science, social studies, language arts, and/or reading.
Minimum ten years of publishing experience, preferably in educational publishing.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in English or Elementary teaching (K-6).
Hands on experience in designing or managing a reader program helpful.
