Description:
Leads Technical Writing team, standards and practices. Works laterally across the organization to match business requirements with good practices. Works as a writer to design, write, publish, and maintain high-quality, customer-focused technical content, including technical manuals, technical illustrations, on-line help, service bulletins, and other materials as needed to support Hypertherm’s products. Ensures that the Technical Writing team’s structure and capabilities are designed to meet the strategic needs of the company.
Responsibilities
Ensures the technical writing requirements of all new and existing product lines are met according to business operating plans. Plans and executes hiring and associate development.
Develops a technical documentation plan for each project that outlines deliverables and provides due dates for those deliverables that meet the product launch requirements.
Develops written content, technical illustrations, and photos as required for deliverables; obtains technical reviews of that content; and ensures the accuracy of revisions to provide the customer with the highest quality technical materials.
As part of the technical writing team, revises safety, warranty, and other boilerplate information as needed to ensure Hypertherm’s customers receive accurate information.
Establishes and uses styles and formats for all Hypertherm technical content and participates in the creation and revision of the technical writing style guide.
