This Counsel position provides legal advice and counsel to a variety of areas, with a focus on health care compliance in support of the Endoscopy business.
Responsibilities:
Advises business on various legal matters, with a focus on health care compliance
Prepares and reviews contracts in a variety of areas.
May supervise contract liaison(s).
Creates/enhances policies and procedures for continued compliance with health care regulations.
Reviews and provides counsel with respect to a variety of programs.
May be responsible for recruiting, coaching and developing organizational talent.
Fosters a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
May provide general direction to managers, exempt specialists and non-exempt support in various areas, groups and/or operations.
Provides legal advice and counsel to company personnel in diverse matters by assisting, advising, investigating, researching and resolving legal matters within corporate legal policies to ensure that company personnel are aware of and in compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
Prepares and executes legal documents by analyzing, drafting, negotiating, reviewing and filing these documents to ensure the company's obligations therein are compatible with management's philosophy and policies, and enforceable.
Quality Systems Duties and Responsibilities:
Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements
Qualifications:
J.D. admitted to the bar in good standing.
Minimum5-8 years of experience.
Preferred background in compliance or ethics functions in a corporate law firm and/or relevant in-house experience.
Medical products, pharma or healthcareindustry experience strongly preferred.
Experience in international business transactions helpful.
Effective written and oral communication abilities and solid legal research and writing skills.
Ability to lead a cross-functional program, preferably with global applicability
Good judgment and strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
