Perot Systems Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for a Project Manager to join our team in Plano, TX.
Job Responsibilities:
Perot Systems Healthcare is seeking a mid-level Project Manager for a client engagement. This is an account-level position that requires direct interaction with client sponsors and account leaders. Responsible for leading projects with labor budgets ranging from $100K-$3M and up to 20 full time project staff members (level 1 through level 3 projects in Perot Systems categories). Candidate must be experienced leading application development project teams through all phases of the standard project lifecycle: Feasibility, Initiation, Planning, Execution and Shutdown. This individual must have experience and training requisite of a formal, documented Project Management environment (PMM, PMI, PRINCE II, etc.) and methodology. The candidate must have proven experience successfully delivering 5-7 application development projects within the size parameters described above. Will partner with account leadership and technical team to successfully deliver projects.
Be familiar with PMM or PMI PMBOK-based project management methodology and lead project teams in day to day execution and compliance with prescribed methodology processes including:
Project charter development
Project initiation and facilitation
Project plan development
Risk and issues management
Quality planning
Communications planning
WBS decomposition
Project schedule development
Change management
Configuration management
Status reporting
Post project reporting
Project transition planning
Project shutdown
Lead project team through structured task estimation process
Monitor and control projects ensuring efficient utilization of project resources
Document meeting, coordinates status reports and approvals on deliverables
Coordinate status reports, minutes, etc.
Participate in preparing and executing the overall project plan
Relate own tasks to others on project and to the project’s critical path
Maintain open communications among project participants and affected parties
Maintain strong focus on customer satisfaction by delivering exceptional project performance and predictable, repeatable project results
Perform analysis that reflect actual vs. planned cost at the project level
Assess impact of labor and cost variances
Create and maintain baseline cost estimate at the project level
Work through informal channels in order to obtain information
Work with informal work teams, often consisting of Perot Systems / client blended teams in order to expedite and status task information
Manage standards, procedures, and practices for recordkeeping of contractual agreements
Conduct and directs application review as required
Monitor improvement efforts in quality and productivity
Incorporate risk mitigation strategy and contingency plan
Required Skills:
5 years IT experience
3-4 years specific project or program management experience
Proven track record of successful application development project delivery results and project assets to describe scope and work performed on 3-5 projects
Experience working within the entire project lifecycle - feasibility, initiation, planning, execution and shutdown
Formal classroom training in these project management disciplines:
Introduction to project management
Project workshop facilitation
Project estimation
Ability to accomplish day to day work within these project management skills areas:
Project communication management
Project cost management
Project human resource management
Project scope management
Project risk management
Project time management
Project quality management
Project integration management
Project procurement management
Product and vendor management
Proficiency with standard project management tools - Microsoft Project, Project Server, Primavera, all Microsoft Office applications, etc.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Experience working within both a project-centric and project matrix environments
Ability to recognize exceptions to documented policy and procedures
Monitor schedule deviations and assist in the development of alternative methods for corrective action at the project level
Working knowledge of quality assurance methods, tools, and techniques
Desired Skills:
PMP certification; PMI membership and participation
IT experience in the healthcare domain; either provider or payer segments
Working knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle
Experience working with development teams utilizes interative/incremental development and agile/SCRUM processes
Experience working within an established program office environment
Advanced university degree
Quality program experience such as ISO-9000, CMMI or Six Sigma implementation and assessments
Strong preference given to local candidates
Minimum Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in CIS or related field and/or equivalent work related experience
