Description:
Assists in product development of group design product ranges, including all SPUS-SPHO Concept responsible products. Provide hydraulic engineering support to Product Development. Designs new and modified pump hydraulic designs for optimum performance, range, and compliance with specifications. Develops and maintains software and systems as necessary to create, control and validate the hydraulic database of concept responsible product ranges.
Co-ordinates with all hydraulic design groups and operational test areas, including headquarters, to confirm consistency of hydraulic performances and to make updates when identified. Uses the hydraulic database to create performance range maps and curves for the Product Manual and to create performance catalogs used in other performance selection tools by Sales and Engineering. Supports the further development of new and existing product ranges by improvement of hydraulic design tools and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Interfaces with project design team to support the creation of new or modified hydraulic designs.
· Interfaces with Hydraulic design and test departments.
· Creates, validates and controls distribution of the hydraulic database.
· Creates and maintains documentation of hydraulic performance for concept responsible products.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develops and maintains software and systems.
· Supports development & implementation of improvements to hyd design tools & processes.
· Adheres to company and department policies procedures and standards.
· Supports and cooperates in the company wide Total Quality Management (TQM) effort.
· Creates, validates and controls distribution of the hydraulic database.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: May supervise sub-ordinates in creating design, database or software improvements. Provides instruction in the use of new tools and processes.
