Would you benefit from gaining work experience related to the pursuit of your degree by supporting technical staff at 3M? The position of Technical Aide located in Maplewood, Minnesota is a temporary, part-time assignment with 3M's Technical Aide Program. The Technical Aide Program is designed to support the 3M technical community and will be assisting the 3M technical staff in the performance of their job responsibilities. It is a great way to get relevant work experience that complements your education. The Technical Aide will be responsible for, but not limited to the following specific duties: Following written or verbal instructions in order to prepare, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment. Assists in elementary laboratory tests and experiments under specific instructions.
Performing equipment calibrations and standardization to ensure accurate calculations of test data. Ensures the completion of experimental operations by maintaining accurate records of experiments and adequate inventory of supplies and equipment.
Documenting observations and results in technical notebooks on in-process and final samples. Assists in data summarization and preparation of final reports on samples. Reports test results to appropriate staff.
Performing routine lab duties including shipping and storing of customer samples. Performs other duties as assigned.
This position is limited to working 899 hours per service credit year.
