Pragmatics is looking for a Systems Administrator with experience administering a LAN/WAN - TCP/IP environment using WINDOWS 2000, and XP. Candidate must have experience administering UNIX environments. Experience with implementation, and migration to a production WINDOWS 2000 server and XP. Experience managing LAN/WAN connectivity through maintenance and troubleshooting of routers, switches, hubs, network cards, and dial up networking. Candidate must demonstrate knowledge of Cisco routers, firewalls, internet infrastructure, measuring bandwidth requirements, and experience rebuilding servers and workstations. Candidate must be able to administer user accounts, passwords, and Telnet & FTP services. Must maintain servers, creates monitoring reports and logs and ensures functionality of links. Establishes backups, monitors site security, maintain configuration management and documentation on systems. Additionally, must coordinate professional systems requirements / issues with all responsible users and sites. Design and prepare technical reports and related documentation, make charts and graphs to record results. Candidate must have general quantitative, analytical, and verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills. Prepare and deliver presentations and briefings as required by the task order. Technical support includes technical advice on hardware platforms as required by the task order. Prepare Test Condition Requirements (TCR) for Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) testing. Perform IV&V testing ensuring proper functioning of all software and hardware changes.
Candidate required to augment the WPS Branch with traveling and serving as a team member during crises, contingencies or exercises. Required to travel to various locations in support of this task and require a secret security clearance to support the mission.
Four (4) years of experience providing technical support and/or installation of LAN hardware and software; Two (2) years experience installing, configuring, customizing, and/or securing Microsoft operating systems (WIN2000, XP).
Experience must demonstrate one year of support for a medium MS Windows environment.
Value added: HP UNIX / Panasonic experience;
Exposure or work with HP/Panasonic
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other related discipline. Solid work experience can substitute for the degree requirement.
