Sr. Data Network Consultant
INFORMATION ON THE POSITION
· The position will be staffed at client sites and the job responsibilities will vary from architecture development to the deployment of network hardware
· Candidates will have experience developing comprehensive data solutions using enterprise-class routing, switching, wireless, and security services
· Expect to lead the design and integration of networking solutions and create documentation that is accurate, thorough, and polished
· Candidates should be able to consult with our clients to analyze their business and technical networking requirements
· This position requires the ability to interact well with a diverse range of people and the ability to adapt quickly to change
GENERAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Previous consulting experience is required
· Ability to execute in a methodical manner to gather, document, and present specific customer requirements as well as articulate technical solutions
· Exceptional documentation skills that can clearly articulate technical designs, issues and constraints, procedures, and network assessments
· Strong analytical and problem determination/resolution skills
· Good presentation and communication skills regarding technical and non-technical concepts
· Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish professional working relationships with varying levels of both business and technical personnel
· Self-directed to complete tasks in both a professional and timely manner with minimal supervision
· A demonstrated history of delivering exceptional customer service
· Travel for support client engagements within the Western Region is required
TECHNICAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
· Solid understanding of network design and implementation in enterprise and ecommerce environments
· Comprehension of networking concepts including network design principles, data flow determination, routing, switching, VLANs, IP addressing, spanning-tree, etc.
· Solid understanding of network utility services including TFTP, FTP, DNS, DHCP, NTP, SMTP, SYSLOG, etc.
· Familiarity with network scanning/analysis procedures and toolsets for network readiness assessments
· Understanding of advanced networking technologies and solutions including IPV6, MPLS, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, multicast, policy-based routing, ether-channel, QoS, traffic-shaping, load balancing, WAN Optimization, etc.
· Understanding of advanced data center networking technologies and solutions including ACE, GSS, MDS Storage integration, collocation facility integration, DR integration, etc.
· Demonstrated performance in a large-scale enterprise technical work environment or a minimum of 5 years direct industry experience as described above
· Experience with enterprise class network management/monitoring systems is a plus (CiscoWorks, Opsware, SMARTs, HP Openview, Concord eHealth, etc.)
· Experience with performance management tools and services (OpNet, Compuware, NETMRI, WAAS, WCCP, NetMRI, etc.) is a plus
EDUCATION:
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or related field is required
· CCIE-level technical certification is preferred. CCNP level is required
