Essilor of America, Inc. (Essilor), is the leading manufacturer and wholesaler of prescription lenses in the United States.   We currently have an HRIS Software Technical Lead career opportunity at our Dallas, TX location.
POSITION PURPOSE:
As a member of IT Application Management, the HRIS Software Technical Lead is responsible for enhancing and maintaining the HRIS (Human Resource Information System) solution which is comprised of the HRIS Internal Web Application, Manager Access Web Application and Employee Access Web Application.  Responsibilities also include research and evaluation of emerging technologies and designing solutions (customizations) to support business strategies. This may involve working with various counterparts across Essilor International. The HRIS Software Technical Lead will provide and review design, maintenance and evolutions on existing and future solutions, will assure proper knowledge transfer to appropriate teams, and will participate in all business projects concerning their area of the business operation.
He/she will closely work with IT Business Analysts in Analysis, Requirements Gathering and User Acceptance phases in order to provide inputs for estimates and align enhancements solution with Business needs. He/she will represent his/her department towards the project and development teams, producing technical design and set up, supporting development and ensuring technical customizations. Acting as a technical expert in this area, his/her approach must be aligned with the overall software architecture, standards and guidance of the ESSILOR Information System, as well as with the operational requirements and business needs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Primary responsibility will include design, development maintenance and support of HRIS solution, in close relationship with the Business and take an active role in the design development, maintenance and support over .NET solutions being developed by A&M. 2. Maintains and modifies routine programs; makes approved changes by amending flow charts, developing detailed programming logic, and coding changes. 3. Tests and develops modifications and writes operational procedure. 4. Participate in the development of the software road map in the HRIS area & related technologies. 5. Designs HRIS systems at the component level, participates in strategic technology choices, and directly supervises the quality of designs and implementation inside and between components 6. Ensure all solutions under responsibility are correctly integrated in current software map, middleware framework and global infrastructure the information system relies on. 7. Comply with the IS QA & Health Care team standards and references, in regards to quality, performance and reusability of the developed solutions. 8. Comply with the IS Pre-Production team standards in regards to operability of the developed solutions. 9. Comply with the IS Technical Architecture team standards in regards to the global technical framework of the company. 10. Identify, define and conduct unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, and benchmarking. 11. Propose future (mid-term / long-term) evolutions on HRIS through knowledge and research on the market (emerging technologies), and propose new solutions through proven design and extensive validation testing (including anticipation of implementation and operational aspects). 12. Ensure appropriate documentation of application architecture, design, project deliverables and status, implementation and support. 13. Application support (on-call duty) for HRIS issues.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor Degree in IT, MIS or CS, or equivalent experience 2. Able to understand and manipulate concepts as to design solutions that will fit high level business concepts as well as everyday limitations. 3. Extensive past proven experience as an application architect or senior developer 4. Minimum of 5 years experience utilizing T-SQL, ASP, ASP.NET, SQL Server, C#, Visual Basic required 5. Minimum of 5 years experience managing SQL Server and IIS Server 6. Ability to analyze operational requirements and assess data processing technology and capacity requirements. 7. Ability to plan, implement, test, and troubleshoot system software. 8. Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise. 9. Ability to design, develop, and implement integrated hardware/software systems solutions to organizational requirements. 10. Knowledge of network security at is pertains to web applications 11. Knowledge of a broad range of relevant multi-user computer systems, applications, and/or equipment. 12. Ability to develop and write systems and applications documentation and guides for users. 13. Knowledge of computer security procedures and protocol. 14. Ability to determine the nature of computer hardware and systems software problems, and to communicate technical guidance and information to users. 15. Project management skills. 16. Strong organizational, analytical, and decision making skills. 17. Self motivated, eager to learn and grow in the IT profession. 18. Team player, must be able to work with people within and outside of the I.S. department. Customer service oriented. 19. Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and presentation. 20. Dedication.
