Description:
This position will serve as the point of contact for all associate relations issues and questions for our Manufacturing site in Elizabethtown, PA. This position will also customize, implement, and, in some cases, create policies, practices, and procedures dealing with associate relations. Position will also proactively educate managers and associates on Human Resources policies, practices, and procedures. Key Responsibilities: Serves as the HR point of contact for all associate relations questions, concerns, and issues for our Elizabethtown, PA manufacturing site.
Uses best practice research, feedback from associates, and input from other HR Managers to plan, create, customize, and implement associate relation policies, programs and procedures
Coaches managers and associates on associate relations issues (e.g., assists managers with writing Performance Improvement Plans) policy and skill based.
Educates associates about the company's associate relations policies, programs, and procedures (includes legal awareness training)
Use associate relations trends across the Chocolate organization to create and implement targeted interventions.
Ensures consistency with performance appraisals, performance warnings, performance improvement, terminations, and policies and procedures.
Conducts exit interviews with associates who are leaving the business, identifying trends and recommending intervention, when necessary.
Reviews performance and conduct issues. Decides the appropriate level of progressive discipline and severance options as appropriate.
Ensures fairness and consistency through our performance management and performance calibration processes.
In conjunction with our labor attorney represents the business in depositions or other legal related proceedings
Investigates and/or coordinates investigations, recommending solutions and/or referring problems to appropriate personnel (e.g. Health Services, Associate Assistance Program, HR Manager when appropriate, etc.)
Government regulation compliance as they relate to employment practices and Company polices and practices/procedures such as: ADA, EEOC, FMLA regulations to reduce the risk to Company
In certain instances be responsible for managing additional core HR Processes (e.g., non exempt hiring and staffing at a Manufacturing site).
Partnering with Site Leadership to ensure our core values are embraced in every day interactions.
This position will interface with the HR Managers on critical decisions that could impact the teams they support.
Some administrative duties will include: personnel file maintenance, HR Database reporting, performance tracking, staffing and on-boarding of new associates.
Key Skills Required: Associate relations policy design and delivery
Strong knowledge of state and federal employment legislation (e.g.; ADA, EEOC, FMLA)
Understanding of how to conduct legal investigations
Learning design and delivery
Knowledge of all labor laws and regulations
