Description:
FINCA International is currently seeking an HR Career Path Consultant. The HR Career Path Consultant will work directly with the FINCA International Talent Manager and Global Learning & Performance Improvement Manager as well as collaborate with Regional Directors, Country Directors (as appropriate) and the Regional Training Managers in the process of developing and documenting career development paths for FINCA International’s core professions. The individual filling the position can work from any location. FINCA international will provide access to all internal systems as required. This consultancy is a 4 month assignment which will run from December 1st 2009 (or an earlier date if possible) through the end of March, 2010.
The deliverables of this consultancy are:
- Understand current and future staffing needs of the institution, both from the jobs perspective (competencies etc.) and from the staff perspective (inventory of competencies, costs, etc.);
- Identify existing ad hoc career paths if any;
- Propose methodology and action plan to determine the best approach to career paths given FINCA’s short, medium and long-term staffing needs;
- Develop surveys, interview protocols, focus group protocols, and any other tools necessary to the completion of the implementation of career paths;
- Implement all actions included in methodology;
- Create career path for each core profession in FINCA including:
- Identification and documentation of path by March 31, 2010
- Documenting competencies, skills and abilities required for each profession by March 31, 2010
- Establishing action items and next steps to produce conceptual map/design of the training requirements and non-training requirements (e.g. rotational programs, formal education, language skills, etc).
Ideal profile:
- Master’s Degree in Human Resources or related field;
- Minimum of 5 years of applicable experience in talent management, internal mobility, or any other similar experience;
- Experience in the financial services highly desirable but not required;
- Ability to research organizational status, both current state and future state, in the career development arena;
- Ability to communicate with staff and management of all levels;
- Ability to communicate with and elicit appropriate information from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs);
- Ability to assimilate and translate jargon and associated operational terminology into learning-specific goals and objectives;
- International community work experience;
- Excellent writing skills;
- Fluency in English required, Spanish, Russian or French desirable.
