BASIC FUNCTION:
The Director of Communication directs the development and implementation of a comprehensive corporate communication program designed to create and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders, increase employees’ understanding of the company's goals, structure and achievements and to communicate externally about the company. This team member ensures clarity and consistency of messaging in all internal and external communications and supports the executive office with leadership communication.
JOB DUTIES:
- Direct the creation and execution of corporate communication programs and services encompassing company culture, values, standards, strategic initiatives, business objectives, career and benefits information, and other critical information to inform, educate, and engage employees at all levels.
- Oversee the planning, creation and production of all internal and external company publications, including online and printed publications as well as presentation materials used for internal and external use.
- Direct the development of all one-time, special internal communications, such as Manager Toolkits or Senior Leadership e-mails, HR/benefits announcements, and other critical internal documents.
- Ensure style, format and quality standards are met in all publications. Continually track, measure, evaluate and report achievement of communication goals with a focus on recommending and incorporating improvements as appropriate.
- Provide counsel to senior management on how to strategically position information to deliver the appropriate message to internal stakeholders.
- Help gather and write content for companywide meetings such as Town Hall or Officer Meetings.
- Identify and/or create opportunities to promote a favorable perception of Archon to its employees, its clients and external parties.
- Establish a consistent level of quality, accuracy, accountability, and compliance of standards.
- Maintain a relationship with Goldman Sachs Communication department to deliver important information from the firm to Archon employees.
OTHER IMPORTANT DUTIES
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge
- Working knowledge of organizational communication theory and practice.
- Advanced working knowledge of electronic and print communication processes.
- Working knowledge of management processes such as planning and personnel
administration.
Skills
- Highly developed writing and editing skills with an understanding of news, feature and online writing styles.
- Ability to facilitate change and manage the process while monitoring for desired outcomes.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills to interact with all levels of team members and senior management.
- Interpersonal skills to relate with staff at all levels throughout the company to stay aware of potentially newsworthy developments.
- Ability to understand Archon's business, apply knowledge and critical thinking skills in day-to-day problems and solutions.
- Strong leadership skills with an ability to coach, lead, motivate, and influence others to support corporate goals and objectives.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and balance multiple initiatives using effective time management skills.
- Self-starter and team player and be able to work seamlessly with team members, executives, vendors and customers.
