ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Systems Administration ü Managing the following services for internal and external customers: ü Internal and external DNS management ü Internal and external FTP services ü Website and Corporate load balancing configuration ü Troubleshooting of Linux host issues, including operating system and application interaction ü Troubleshooting of basic server-side first-tier networking/connectivity issues, including: § Network device configuration and connectivity issues § Issues with load balancing and service configuration § Simple network pathing and routing issue ü Must have strong knowledge of the Linux operating system and basic knowledge of networking concepts ü Excellent troubleshooting skills and a proven documentation methodology is also required ü Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to interact well with peers and customers. ü A degree in Computer Science or at least three years¹ relevant experience in a large-scale technical operations environment is preferred ü Strong programming skills in at least one of the following languages is highly desired: Perl, C, C++ or Shell (bash, ksh, csh) ü Working knowledge of a second programming language is a plus PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS ü Must have strong knowledge of the Linux operating system and basic knowledge of networking concepts ü Strong programming skills in at least one of the following languages is highly desired: Perl, C, C++ or Shell (bash, ksh, csh) . ü Good technical knowledge in technology methodologies and design. ü Good analytical and design skills at single-product/multi-environment level. ü Aware of business issues as they impact overall project plans. ü Strong communication and interpersonal skills. ü Knowledge of any monitoring system preferred. ü Solaris experience a plus. ü Able to resolve problems in a timely manner. ü PC s, hardware equipment, various database and software applications, and networking systems. ü The right candidate for this position will have a strong background in systems configuration, design, integration, security management, and development. ü This person must have the ability to function within a highly dynamic, results driven and high-pressure environment in order to achieve required objectives. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS ü A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is required, with minimum 4+ year s system administration experience or 2-3 years specialty engineering experience. ü Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills. ü Able to work successfully both independently and on a team. ü Creative thinking and ability to 'think outside the box' are ESSENTIAL. ü Well organized, attentive to details, and able to meet demanding deadlines.
