Exciting opportunity for a n experienced IT/operations support professional that thrives in a fast paced environment. In this position you will use your knowledge of technology and systems engineering to help build, customize, and support financial clearing platform s that connects to multiple outside customers and systems. You will need a strong knowledge of network/system architecture (multiple platforms and systems), connectivity, and strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills. In this position you will work on a team of operations analysts and assist with: ongoing customization/integration/testing of clearing systems into multiple platforms, document processes and procedures for the new system, and provide complex technical support. The support work will involve complex issues that require a strong ability to research and resolve technical issues, interact with the customer, and have strong follow through skills to see support issues through to resolution. Qualified applicants will need 4-10 years of experience of network and system design and technical support, strong customer service skills, ability to operate effectively in a fast paced environment, and enjoy research of technical issues and learning new technology. There will be some overtime required, as the typical work week is 45-50 hours. RESPONSIBILITIES Troubleshooting day-to-day customer issues and helping other staff with problem solving and escalation procedures Understand the Clearing platforms and apply technical knowledge to improve system performance and reliability Work with the client to communicate important information about system maintenance, changes and events, and to address client concerns regarding any aspect of the services Interaction with third-party vendors is required and coordination with the various business units (specifically clearing houses) is an integral part of the position's responsibilities Ability to quickly assess an issue and provide management with well-conceived short- and long-term actions for restoration of service(s) required Must be able to prepare documentation for troubleshooting and escalation procedures Run daily operations procedures including overseeing end of day clearing and banking runs Support production change processes including deployments, risk assessment and testing REQUIREMENTS Good verbal and written communication skills required Minimum 4 years experience in technology support Understanding router, switch, Firewall and Proxy technologies Internetworking experience with Microsoft OS and LAN/WAN technologies (TCP/IP, Multicast) Experience with enterprise monitoring solutions desired PREFERRED: J AVA/Unix/VB/MQ/SWIFT experience a plus Working knowledge of Solaris/UNIX/Linux a plus
