Description:
The Butler Hill Group has an immediate need for Taiwan data annotators to review and evaluate internet search results based on specific search terms and provide either a favorable or unfavorable rating depending on the relevance of the result to the search term. The evaluation work is done according to specific guidelines using an automated tool.
Data annotators review and evaluate on-line search results, in the Chinese language, based on specific search terms and provide either a favorable or unfavorable rating depending on the relevance of the result to the search term. The evaluation work is done according to specific guidelines using an automated tool.
Candidates must be native Chinese speakers, living in Taiwan, and fluent English speakers. Ideal candidates possess a strong familiarity with a wide variety of online news sources published in Taiwan for the Chinese language market and are avid Internet enthusiasts. This is a free-lance, contracted position requiring that annotators work remotely on a personal computer (high-speed DSL or cable and a recent version of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office proficiency are required).
Data annotators will work 4 hours per day, Monday-Friday. This is an on-going project requiring a continuing commitment to part-time work (20 hours per week) that is expected to extend to approximately the middle of 2010.
Qualifications
• Proven track record in a fast-paced, multitasking environment • Excellent communication skills in both Chinese and English • High-level reading comprehension skills • Detail-oriented and organized with strong time management skills • Background or interest in Internet research, fact checking, internet technology and/or communications • Familiar with current cultural, political, business and media affairs in Taiwan • Analytical skills, including research skills, ability to interpret data, ability to conceptualize and analyze information • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially MS Word and MS Excel • Minimum two years of college or equivalent work experience preferred
