GENERAL MANAGER – BENSALEM, PA DISTRICT OFFICE
Orbital Engineering,® Inc., a dynamic and growing engineering and design firm with offices in Pittsburgh, PA, Bensalem, PA, Toledo, OH, and Hammond, IN, is seeking a well networked and business savvy General Manager to oversee its operations in the greater Bensalem, PA and Philadelphia, PA regions.
POSITION PURPOSE:
The General Manager will manage all business aspects of the Bensalem, PA office including management of personnel, recruiting and staffing, planning, marketing, developing business proposals, and project management. The candidate will be responsible for generating new business and maintaining customer relationships in the greater Bensalem, PA and Philadelphia, PA areas. The successful candidate will also provide technical information and support to other engineering and technical staff applying standards, processes and techniques adopted by the company. As General Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for oversight of projects managed or performed by others and directing the operation of the assigned units, projects or programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage all business aspects of the Bensalem office including personnel issues, recruiting/staffing, strategic planning, business development and proposals.
Provides quality control and technical oversight of all local projects and programs.
Developing new business with support of corporate and local resources.
Maintaining existing customer relationships
Sets goals, establishes priorities, manages resources, develops concepts and approaches, reviews projects progress and results; makes management decisions.
Oversees the development, evaluation or review of plans and criteria for a variety of activities; assesses feasibility of proposed plans, projects and equipment.
Supervises personnel including: hiring, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring and evaluating performance, and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions.
Projects: heavy industrial/consulting environment
Focus: petroleum, chemical, power and steel industries
A B.S. in an engineering related field is required. The successful
