SUMMARY: The Reverse Engineering Technician will be responsible for component geometry data acquisition through the use of a portable CMM and conventional measurement tools. The work will be performed at Sulzer Service Centers and at various customer locations. The supervisor will determine extent and the focus of the work performed. The CP technician will be responsible to use the acquired data to develop machining and/or casting drawings for component production.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Acquires data for drawing development to meet customer requirements.
· Produces machining/casting drawings and 3D models of cast components.
· Travels with CSS sales staff and make joint presentations to enhance this initiative.
· Inspects pattern equipment for dimensional accuracy
Maintains records regarding activities and equipment certification/maintenance.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Inspects first article raw castings for machining capability
· Assists with part drawing management.
· Provide pattern troubleshooting assistance
· Create complete pump assembly drawings for troubleshooting and review
· Supports, cooperates with, and participates in company-wide EHS Management System which includes following all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures. Supports and cooperates in company-wide Quality Management effort.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· HS diploma or equivalent required; post secondary education / technical college is preferred.
· Two years experience working with patterns, foundries, metallurgy, machining or combination of areas required.
· Ability and flexibility to domestic travel on short notice required.
· Knowledge of pump manufacturing. Experience with engineered products and quality principles.
· Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills and able to work with internal and external customers under demanding conditions.
· Demonstrated computer proficiency with knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and proficiency in Auto Cad required; experience with SAP preferred.
