Information about the firm is available at www.jpmorgan.com Job Overview: Legal Counsel for JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. in Sydney Australia (the "Bank") to advise and support the Treasury and Securities Services Group ("T&SS"), which comprises of two businesses, Worldwide Securities Services ("WSS") and Treasury Services ("TS"). TS's principal activities include providing treasury and cash management, trade finance, payment and liquidity management services for multi-national corporations, banks and non-bank financial institutions and government bodies worldwide. WSS's principal activities include providing domestic and global custodial services, ADR programmes, securities lending programs, collective investment scheme and fund support related services, and specialty trust services for multi-national corporations, banks and non-bank financial institutions and government bodies worldwide. Reporting Line The position reports to the T&SS Asia Pacific Regional General Counsel, based in Hong Kong. Responsibilities To partner with and provide legal support and advice to the T&SS business in Australia. In particular, legal support will include: reviewing and advising on new product initiatives
drafting and negotiating a variety of contracts (including custody, stock lending, and servicing agreements)
advising local T&SS management and other groups within T&SS on legal issues
liaising with regional colleagues and liaising with product and services specialists globally within legal
advising on Australian regulatory and legal issues generally
instructing and working with outside counsel
liaising with local regulators
