Purpose
The primary role of the US Tax Manager role will be to oversee domestic tax compliance, including preparation of all federal and state income & franchise tax returns, calculation of estimated tax payments, responding to notices from tax offices, preparation of various local tax returns, etc. This person will also be involved in identifying and researching various tax issues, tax audit management, etc.
Role
The US Tax Manager will provide the Tax Department with dedicated resource who can focus on US tax compliance and planning, thus freeing up the time of other staff to focus on international and foreign country tax compliance and planning. He/she will be oversee US domestic tax compliance, including preparation of federal and state income tax returns, computation of estimate tax payments, responding to notices from tax authorities and providing tax audit support. In addition, the US Tax Manager will be expected to supervise or completing various federal, state and local tax research projects. Given Corbis’ global footprint, this person will, ideally, have a good understanding of US international tax issues and as well as strong S-Corporation fundamentals. Experience with US tax accounting for foreign branches and computation of currency gains and loss issues will be helpful.
The US Tax Manager may also be asked to assist with a wide variety of tax planning & research projects and to help develop tax recommendations.Given the nature this role, the planning strategies will be predominately US in nature, but may need to take international tax objectives and concepts into account.
Other roles that the position will fill may include:
· Serve as a resource in assisting with various transactional tax matters.
· Assist with withholding tax administration on photographer royalties.
· Assist with tax aspects of ERP system design, implementation and maintenance.
· Serve as an additional resource to the tax team in managing a variety of domestic and international tax matters.
Qualifications
· A solid understanding of S-Corporation taxation, both at the federal state levels, is essential as well as an ability to research federal & state income tax,
· Sales and use tax and a wide variety of local tax issues.
· Knowledge of international tax issues and / or withholding tax is a plus.
· BS Accounting. Masters in Taxation and/or CPA, preferred.
