Description:
JOB SUMMARY
This position requires a strong communicator with proven organizational skills. Working closely with the production department and sales team, this person will communicate directly with content providers, local stations, and account executives to ensure compliance with company policies for programming, advertising and promotion. This position is responsible for reviewing internal and externally supplied content for broadcast clearance, as well as other media for giveaway or promotion. This position works closely with Brand Management and Legal to ensure company image and applicable laws are respected.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Review commercial and promo copy from network and local affiliates and recommend edits as necessary to ensure compliance.
· Review recorded materials (music, DVDs) and video content (graphics, music videos) for acceptance for broadcast and giveaway.
· Review websites, online games, movies, prizes, and other giveaway materials for compliance.
· Maintain accurate departmental files of approvals/disapprovals.
· Consult regularly with Legal Department to ensure all FCC regulations and other legalities are addressed.
· Maintain a working knowledge of COPPA and CARU guidelines.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required:
· Minimum five years in Broadcast Standards, Programming, Ad Agency/Media Legal Clearance, Traffic, or Research.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Required:
· Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; basic Internet research skills.
· Effective communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
· Prior multi project management experience.
· Team oriented professional with strong work ethic.
Preferred
· Music trends knowledge a plus.
