DESCRIPTION An Enterprise Architecture Consultant is needed to provide advice and organize an enterprise architecture effort. This position will also include some hands-on practical work. The consultant in this role must be experienced in organizing an enterprise architecture effort and also willing and able to do practical day-to-day work. The client is organizing its production IT as services and is implementing Service Level Management, ITIL with the goal of ISO 20000 certification in FY2011. Within this context the client has begun to set up an Office of Enterprise Architecture, and is building up its expertise. The concept of the office is a small team which assesses the current stat of systems and working collaboratively with domain experts synthesizes, documents and maintains a "to-be" model of systems. The client is also seeking contract help for the following tasks in the Office of Enterprise architecture: 1) An initial survey of Enterprise level business processes, applications and data (est: 2 months) 2) Selection and implementation of tooling for EA drawings, documents and other EA artifacts (est: 2 months) 3) Work defining an initial master data model (MDM) for people, equipment, issues, facilities, and budget, along with processes for maintaining the MDM (est: 3 months) 4) General Architecture design and oversight for the Laboratory's FY2010 projects (est: 4 months) 5) Training and development of the methods and workforce which will participate in EA (est: 1 month) SKILLS Enterprise Architecture Design and Implementation Synectics offers competitive salaries and a full suite of benefits.
