Job Description Business Intelligence Developer : 6 months contract to hire We are in need of 3 Business Intelligence Software Architects to manage the design and development of our Healthcare client's Business Intelligence (BI) applications and associated infrastructure on a 6 month-to-hire role in Virginia Beach, VA. The BI Architect is a critical role with overall responsibility and accountability for designing a holistic BI environment from ETL to the end user applications. The BI Architect will leverage foundational skills in enterprise data architecture combined with prior experience to lead enterprise strategic engagements that focus on BI, Master Data Management, Data Governance, Data Quality, Predictive Analytics and Data Warehousing. The BI Architect will also research emerging products and technologies, evaluate their promise and readiness for use at the client site, and work with IT partners to study business value and conduct technical tests and prototypes.Experience: 5-10+ years of enterprise-level Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing/Analytics experience including relational and dimensional modeling in a healthcare environment Qualifications -5 -10 years experience of Enterprise level BI/Data Warehouse/Analytics experience -Microsoft BI stack -Full SDLC -Database Technologies -Data Modeling Tools -Data Warehouse Methodologies -OLTP,OLAP, and DSS implementations -ETL design and implementation experience -N-tier Oracle or SQL server or DB2 database technologyMust possess a thorough understanding of: Microsoft Business Intelligence stack to include: SSAS, SSIS, SSRS, and SQL Server. Best practices and methodologies in designing, maintaining and building an Enterprise Data Warehouse and Data Marts. Advanced data modeling techniques, including star schemas, Kimball methodologies and ETL strategies Advanced OLAP and Dimensional modeling concepts and best practices Healthcare Industry subject matter expertise Full software development lifecycle ETL design and implementation experience N-tier technologies Resonsibililties 40% time spent Research, analysts and design Business Intelligence solutions utilizing the following technologies -Relational Database Programming and Design Comcepts -Multi-Generatational programming languages -Multi- Tier Concepts -Advanced Data Modeling techniques, including start schemas, Kimball methodologies and ETL strategies. -Database Clustering/Synchronization 20% of their time Research new technologies that facilitate building Business Intelligence solutions. 20% of their time Ensure appropriate adoption of technology, methodologies and standards across the enterprise to include:training and knowledge transfer, technology review, change mangement/production control, design and code review. Oversees all internally developed Business Intelligence solutions to reduce the risk of security compromises or performance and scalability issues. 10% of their time Produce and maintain internal documentation 10% of their time Lead Vendor and product evaluations of proposed new technologiesEducation: BS Computer Science or Information Systems This is an exempt position and may require overtime, on call rotation and local travel. .
