Job Description GENERAL The National Geospatial Intelligence College (NGC) requires geospatial analysis (GA) instructors to develop and deliver basic, intermediate and advanced geospatial analysis and/or remote sensor training. The mission of the Geospatial Analysis Instructor is to develop and deliver basic, intermediate, and advanced geospatial and geospatial intelligence training for delivery to NGA and the intelligence community. TASK DESCRIPTION The instructors will work as part of a team of contract and government geospatial analysis and imagery instructors to combine the applications of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing (RSI), and sensors with other intelligence sources. They will teach the application of GIS techniques and i nstruct on the theory, techniques, procedures, and sensors used to produce digital and hardcopy geospatial intelligence products from remotely sensed imagery. Duties include: a. Development and revision of GIS and RSI courses that are instructional systems design (ISD)-compliant. This effort is to include the integration of multimedia course instructional materials, equipment, and non-traditional (NTM, MASINT) data. b. Work with NGA analysts and management to create new and forward-looking course curriculum to satisfy Geospatial Intelligence Analyst requirements. c. On-podium instruction of developed courseware. d. Classroom management. e. Delivery and support of mobile training team geospatial analysis training to external customers. LOCATION OF WORK Work will be conducted primarily at NGC facilities at Fort Belvoir , VA. Instructors may be required to travel to other government facilities in the Washington , DC area as well as CONUS and OCONUS trips in support of training requirements. SECURITY REQUIREMENTS Individual must be a U.S. citizen and hold a current TS/SCI level security clearance. Final authority for approval to brief rests with the NGA. SKILLS AND QUALIFICIATIONS Required: 1. Proven detailed working knowledge of NGA, Department of Defense, Federal, and Commercial RSI/GIS data sources, standards, and models. 2. Demonstrated working knowledge of the principles and applications of geographic information systems and digital image processing. 3. Proven excellent writing and briefing skills including command of grammar and business communications style, ie the ability to convey ideas clearly and concisely. 4. Proven experience with MS Office and associated software tools, eg, Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Access. Desired : 1. MS/MA degree in Geography, Geodetic Sciences, or an RSI/GIS related field. 2. Demonstrated knowledge of imagery theory, and its applications pertaining to Advance Geospatial Intelligence (AGI) to include Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), Thermal Infrared (TIR), Multi-spectral Imagery (MSI), and Hyperspectral Imagery (HSI) processing and analysis 3. Proven experience with ESRI s Internet Map Server and Spatial Database Engine. 4. RSI/GIS/programming experience including but not limited to the following: EML, ArcObjects, and Visual Basic. 5. Proven experience with ESRI s Internet Map Server and Spatial Database Engine. 6. Demonstrated working knowledge of SOCET Set/GXP, Falcon View, NIMA Muse, GeoTrans, MapInfo, soft copy image exploitation software (eg Remote View, Vitec Viper), and ENVI. 7. Demonstrated working knowledge of photogrammetric fundamentals in a digital environment. 8. One year s proven experience with national, theater, or airborne sensors. 9. Proven experience in developing presentations, Web-based tutorials, and geospatial applications MID-LEVEL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. BS/BA degree in Geography, Geodetic Sciences, or an RSI/GIS related field and 6 or more years of practical working experience in one of the above. 2. Proven experience as an instructor or trainer for small to medium sized groups. 3. Working knowledge of Instructional Systems Design (ISD) , which includes working knowledge of development of learning objectives; methodologies of lecture, demonstration, and practical exercise; adult learning theory, and use of training aids. 4. Upon hire, the successful completion of the 80-hour NGA College Basic Instructor Training Course (BITC). SENIOR-LEVEL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. BS/BA degree in Geography, Geodetic Sciences, or an RSI/GIS related field and 10+ years of practical working experience in one of the above. 2. Proven experience as an instructor or trainer for small to medium sized groups. 3. Demonstrated experience of Instructional Systems Design (ISD) , which includes working knowledge of development of learning objectives; methodologies of lecture, demonstration, and practical exercise; adult learning theory, and use of training aids. 4. Upon hire, the successful completion of the 80-hour NGA College Basic Instructor Training Course (BITC).
